Are You Living Fully?

“You are the average of the five people you spend the most time with.”

This thought is commonly used throughout the social sciences when discussing success, achievement, and personal growth. I think the truth in this statement is powerful. If you hang around mediocre individuals or high achieving individuals you will slowly start to become, act, and carry yourself in a manner that mimics those around you. Seek out and find those individuals who are going to enhance and positively cultivate your growth personally and professionally.

Human nature keeps us from doing extraordinary things. Our desire to take the path of least resistance or just do the bare minimum is ingrained in our logic as humans. It takes focus and added effort to really become extraordinary. You need to become the person you want to be in order to do the things you want to do. The struggle of resisting mediocrity is real and daily. Why should you get up at 5am when you really don’t need to be up until 7am? Because the extra 2 hours in the morning will give you an extra 14 hrs in a week and add another 30 days to your year. That’s a whole month extra you get in a year simply by getting up earlier in the day. Simple changes to lifestyle can help you make the jump from mediocre to living to your full potential. Those extra 30 days can help you write that manuscript, publish that e-book, better manage your business, or help your physical and emotional health.

I challenge you to become the person you want to be. Do not give in to the mediocrity that surrounds our lives. Live above that and strive for something great. Expect the best from yourself and those around you. Be extraordinary.
